# Stripe Integration (Payment Processing)

# Stripe Integration (Payment Processing)

CloudBridal's Stripe integration provides a complete payment processing solution that allows you to accept payments directly through the application. This guide covers how to connect and configure Stripe for your business.

## Connecting to Stripe

To set up the Stripe integration:

1. Go to [Payments settings](https://go.cloudbridal.com/settings/payments) in CloudBridal
2. In the **Card payments with Stripe** card, click **Connect Stripe**
3. Follow Stripe's onboarding process to create or connect your account
4. Provide your business details and complete the verification process
5. Once connected, return to CloudBridal to configure your payment features

Once connected, the card shows your account's status. Click **Manage** to see the account name and ID, whether card payments and payouts are on, your currency and a breakdown of fees.

---

## Stripe Settings

All Stripe settings are on the [Payments settings](https://go.cloudbridal.com/settings/payments) page.

### Paying When They Book

Turn on **Let customers pay when they book** to collect payments during appointment booking. Then choose **How customers pay** for each appointment type in [Appointments settings](https://go.cloudbridal.com/settings/appointments):

- **Reserve with a card**: Customers add a card when they book. Staff can charge up to the fee after a no-show or late cancellation
- **Charge at booking**: Customers pay when they book. Booking requests are charged when you confirm them
- **Charge later**: Staff charge the price from the appointment calendar

| Tip: Add a disclaimer message to your appointment types explaining the charge policy. Clear messaging reduces chargeback risk.

### Card Payments

Turn on card payments with the switch in the **Card payments with Stripe** card. **Charge a card with Stripe** then appears as the first payment method when collecting a payment. With it picked, the button at the bottom reads **Charge** and the amount, and opens the charge step, where **Charge with** offers:

- **Card reader**: Process payments on your Stripe terminal device
- **Card on file**: Charge a card saved to the customer's profile (offered when they have one)
- **Type the card**: Enter card details, for phone orders
- **Payment link**: Send customers a link to pay online _(Core/Ultimate plans)_

Nothing is saved until the charge is sent, and the payment is recorded under your card payment method once the card goes through.

This also enables Stripe charging for [Payment Plans](https://help.cloudbridal.com/en/article/payment-plans-ly2zi6/)—customers can pay installments online via payment link or client portal.

### Start New Payments With

Choose how new payments start:

- **Stripe**: **Charge a card with Stripe** is already picked, so the payment is one click from the charge step
- **Another card machine (recorded only)**: No method is picked, and staff choose the one they took the payment with (use if you process most payments through a different processor)

Staff can switch for each payment.

The card surcharge and your card readers are set up on the same page. See [Payments & Processing](https://help.cloudbridal.com/en/article/payments-processing-nuv3ia/).

## Card Reader Setup

CloudBridal supports two card readers for in-person payments. Setup is done through your Stripe Dashboard.

| | [Stripe Reader S710](https://stripe.com/terminal/s710) | [Verifone V660p](https://stripe.com/terminal/v660p) |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Most shops (recommended) | Shops that want printed receipts without a separate printer |
| Card payments and on-screen tipping | Yes | Yes |
| Customers sign documents on the reader | Yes (Ultimate plan) | No: customers sign on your device or by email |
| Built-in receipt printer | No: pair it with a USB receipt printer if needed | Yes, and it works from any device, including iPad |
| Availability | Wherever Stripe Terminal is available | Preview: the US, Canada and some other countries |
| How to order | [Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/shop) | [Contact Stripe](https://stripe.com/contact/sales) |

Readers you already own, the BBPOS WisePOS E and Stripe Reader S700, keep working the same way as the S710.

### Prerequisites

Before setting up your reader:

- Verify the reader is [supported in your region](https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/payments/regional)
- Enable **Stripe Terminal** in your [Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/dashboard) under **Terminal > Enable**
- Order your reader: the S710 from the [Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/shop), or the V660p by [contacting Stripe](https://stripe.com/contact/sales)
- Ensure stable internet. The S710 supports Wi-Fi, wired Ethernet, and cellular; Ethernet requires the [S710 Hub](https://dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/shop) accessory, sold separately. The V660p supports Wi-Fi, and Ethernet with its optional dock
- Fully charge the reader before first use

### Step 1: Create a Location

1. Go to [Stripe Terminal Locations](https://dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/locations)
2. Click **Create Location**
3. Enter your business address and details
4. Click **Save**
5. The location then shows in the **Set it up** steps of the **Card readers** card in [Payments settings](https://go.cloudbridal.com/settings/payments)

### Step 2: Register Your Reader

1. Go to [Stripe Card Readers](https://dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/readers)
2. Click **Register reader**
3. Enter the pairing code shown on the reader — a new reader displays one as soon as you turn it on
4. If no code appears, or you are re-registering a reader, swipe right from the left edge of the reader screen, tap **Settings** (admin passcode `07139`), then tap **Generate pairing code**
5. Give the reader a name (helpful if you have multiple readers)
6. Select your location
7. Wait for automatic updates to complete
8. In CloudBridal, the reader shows in the **Card readers** card in [Payments settings](https://go.cloudbridal.com/settings/payments). Click **Check again** if it hasn't appeared yet

### Step 3: Test a Payment

Before going live, test with a small payment:

1. Create a test customer profile in CloudBridal
2. Create a test order with a $1 total
3. Add a $1 payment, pick **Charge a card with Stripe** and click **Charge $1.00**
4. Select **Card reader** and click **Send to card reader**
5. Process the payment on the reader
6. Refund the test payment in CloudBridal — open it and click **Refund**. This is also how you refund customer payments: refunding here keeps the order balance in step and lets you issue store credit instead

## Reader Customization

These settings live on the [Manage Locations](https://dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/locations/manage) page in your Stripe Dashboard — not on the main Locations list, where the ⋯ menu only offers Edit/Delete location.

### Accepting Tips

To enable tip prompts on the reader:

1. Click the ⋯ menu on your location
2. Click **Add configuration** (or **Edit configuration** if the location already has one) and name it if prompted
3. Click **Override** in the tipping section, then set your tip percentages/amounts
4. Click **Apply changes**
5. Allow up to 10 minutes for the reader to pick up the new configuration

Tips are automatically tracked in CloudBridal and available in reports.

### Changing the Splash Screen Logo

1. Click the ⋯ menu on your location
2. Click **Add configuration** (or **Edit configuration** if the location already has one) and name it if prompted
3. Click **Override** in the splash screen section, then choose your reader type (such as **S710** or **V660p**). Each reader type has its own splash screen, so a shop with more than one type needs an image for each
4. Upload your logo, sized for the reader: 1080 W × 1920 H pixels for the S710, or 720 W × 1280 H for the V660p (JPG/PNG under 2MB, or GIF under 4MB — GIFs scale automatically)
5. Click **Apply changes**
6. Allow up to 10 minutes for the reader to pick up the new splash screen

## Apple Pay & Google Pay

Offer Apple Pay and Google Pay as payment options on your online booking and payment pages. Customers using a supported device (Safari on iPhone/Mac for Apple Pay, Chrome with a saved card for Google Pay) will see the wallet button automatically alongside the standard card entry form.

Setup is done in your own Stripe Dashboard — not in CloudBridal. Both steps below apply to the Stripe account you connected during onboarding.

### Step 1: Enable the Wallets in Stripe

1. Go to [Stripe Payment Methods](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payment_methods)
2. Under **Default payment configuration**, click **Edit**
3. Ensure **Apple Pay** and **Google Pay** are enabled
4. Click **Save**

### Step 2: Register Your Booking Domain

Apple Pay requires Stripe to verify the exact domain where your payment pages are served.

1. Go to [Payment method domains](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payment_method_domains) in your Stripe Dashboard
2. Click **Add a new domain**
3. Enter `go.cloudbridal.com` — the host where your CloudBridal booking and payment pages load
4. Click **Add**

| Tip: The domain you register must match the hostname where the CloudBridal payment page is served — not your marketing website. If you access CloudBridal from a custom or white-labeled subdomain, register that subdomain instead (or in addition).

#### Embedding CloudBridal on Your Website

If you've embedded the CloudBridal scheduler on your own website, you still only need to register `go.cloudbridal.com` in Stripe — no extra registration is needed. A couple of things to double-check with whoever set up the embed:

- The embed code needs to allow payment features. If Apple Pay isn't showing up on iPhones, ask your web developer to add `allow="payment"` to the embed code, like this:
  ```html
  <iframe src="https://go.cloudbridal.com/appt/..." allow="payment"></iframe>
  ```
- Your website must use HTTPS — look for the padlock icon in your browser's address bar. Apple Pay won't appear on sites without a secure connection.

### Step 3: Test on a Mobile Device

1. Open your booking link on an iPhone (for Apple Pay) or Android device using Chrome (for Google Pay)
2. Proceed to the payment step
3. Confirm the Apple Pay or Google Pay button appears above the card form

### When Wallets Don't Appear

If the wallet button isn't showing up, check:

- The device/browser supports it — Apple Pay only appears on Safari (iOS/macOS); Google Pay requires a saved card in the browser
- The domain is verified in Stripe and shows as **Active** on the Payment method domains page
- Apple Pay / Google Pay is enabled in your default payment configuration
- The customer has at least one card provisioned in their wallet

## Stripe-Enabled Features

These features are available when Stripe is connected and enabled.

### Cards on File

Store customer cards for quick future payments and automatic charging. Cards are managed from the customer's profile.

### Auto-Charge

Automatically charge scheduled payments on their due date using the customer's default card on file.

### Payment Links

**_Plan Requirement_**: ${color}[#15803d](**Core**) or ${color}[#4338ca](**Ultimate**)

Send customers secure links to pay online. Payments are automatically recorded when completed.

### Document E-Signing on the Reader

**_Plan Requirement_**: ${color}[#4338ca](**Ultimate**)

An S710, S700 or WisePOS E reader doubles as a signature device — customers can accept a document's acknowledgments and sign directly on the reader's screen. (The Verifone V660p can't capture signatures; customers sign on your device or by email instead.) When signing a document in store, choose **Sign on card reader**; the reader must be online. See [Documents & Agreements Setup](https://help.cloudbridal.com/en/article/documents-agreements-setup-pqkft/) for the full signing flow.

## Processing Fees

| Payment Type | Stripe Fee | Platform Fee | Total |
| -------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------- | ------------ | ------------- |
| Online (US domestic) | [2.9% + $0.30](https://stripe.com/pricing) | 0.25% | 3.15% + $0.30 |
| In-Person Terminal (US domestic) | [2.7% + $0.05](https://stripe.com/terminal) | 0.25% | 2.95% + $0.05 |

Fees vary by region. After connecting, see the fees for your country under **Manage** in the **Card payments with Stripe** card in [Payments settings](https://go.cloudbridal.com/settings/payments), or visit [Stripe Pricing](https://stripe.com/pricing).

## Regional Availability

Card reader support varies by region. Check [Stripe's regional considerations](https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/payments/regional) for availability. In unsupported regions, you can still use manual card entry and payment links.

## FAQs

###### How do I refund a Stripe payment?

Refund Stripe payments directly in CloudBridal — open the payment and click **Refund**. The refund is initiated through Stripe automatically and returns to the customer's original payment method within a few business days. You can also choose to issue the refund as store credit instead. See [Payments & Processing](https://help.cloudbridal.com/en/article/payments-processing-nuv3ia/) for the full refund flow.

###### What if my reader shows offline?

Ensure it's powered on and connected to Wi-Fi. In CloudBridal, click **Check again** in the **Card readers** card in [Payments settings](https://go.cloudbridal.com/settings/payments).

If the reader goes offline during a payment, CloudBridal stops checking after five failed checks in a row and shows why. Click **Check again** once it's back online.

###### Can I use Stripe alongside my existing processor?

Yes. Set **Start new payments with** to **Another card machine (recorded only)** and use Stripe only when needed. You can record payments from any processor.

###### Where do I manage Stripe account settings?

Financial settings, payouts, and account details are managed in the [Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/dashboard).
