Twilio Integration (SMS)
The Twilio Integration lets you send and receive SMS messages from Twilio directly in CloudBridal. Compared to our built-in messaging, it removes the 150-character limit on SMS messages, adds support for receiving images (MMS), enables automated messaging like appointment reminders and rules-based SMS, and lets you take advantage of Twilio-native features such as Bring Your Own Number and Call Forwarding.
If you are based in the United Kingdom, you may prefer to use the Vonage integration instead — see the Vonage Setup section below.
Requirements
- You must be on the Core or Ultimate plan to enable SMS messaging.
- Register for a Twilio account.
- Add a payment method to your Twilio account — Twilio charges for SMS messages sent and received. See Twilio's pricing page.
- Acquire an SMS-capable phone number from Twilio.
- Your region may have additional regulatory requirements. See Additional Regulatory Requirements below.
Twilio Setup
- In CloudBridal, enable the Twilio plugin within the Integrations Hub area of the settings. Note the Webhook URL — you will need it in step 7.
- Confirm that you have completed the requirements above and provided any regulatory information (see section below) required by Twilio.
- Log into your Twilio console and copy your Account SID, Auth Token, and Phone Number. You will need these later.

- Navigate to Phone Numbers > Manage > Active numbers.
- Select your phone number.
- Scroll down to the Messaging section at the bottom of the page.
- In the A MESSAGE COMES IN field, select Webhook and paste the Webhook URL from your Twilio Plugin settings.

- Back in CloudBridal, navigate to the Integrations Hub and edit your Twilio plugin.
- Enter your Account SID, Auth Token, and Phone Number from step 3, then click Save.
- Test the integration by sending a test SMS message from a CloudBridal prospect/customer record. Then reply to that message from your phone and confirm it is received in CloudBridal.
Additional Regulatory Requirements
Depending on your region, you may need to provide additional information to Twilio during onboarding.
- United States: A2P (Application-to-Person) 10DLC registration is required before you can send SMS reliably — this is a US carrier requirement, not a CloudBridal one. It involves registering your business (Brand) and your messaging use case (Campaign) in Twilio, and typically takes 3–5 business days. Most boutiques get tripped up on the privacy policy and opt-in disclosure requirements, so we've written a dedicated, bridal-specific walkthrough: see A2P 10DLC Registration for US Twilio Users. Start this process before you plan to go live.
- United Kingdom: Requires business identification. In Twilio, go to Phone Numbers > Regulatory Compliance > Bundles and create a regulatory bundle for your UK phone number. Read more about UK regulatory requirements.
- Australia: Requires business identification. In Twilio, go to Phone Numbers > Regulatory Compliance > Bundles and create a regulatory bundle for your phone number. Read more about Australian regulatory requirements.
- Other Regions: See your region's regulatory guidelines.
Vonage Setup — United Kingdom Only
UK-based users can use Vonage as an alternative to Twilio. For setup instructions, see Vonage Integration (SMS).
FAQs
Does CloudBridal support receiving images (MMS)?
Yes — with the Twilio integration, you can receive images from customers in an SMS message. (The Vonage integration does not support images at this time.) Just make sure your Twilio phone number is MMS-capable.
